The Spiritual Spider On Etsy!

I've had this dream of having a business that included...in addition to the Psychic Mediumship and Tarot readings that I already facilitate...making handmade Prayer Beads, 'Good Intention Beads,' Rosaries, Chaplets, and jewelry. Well, a few days ago my business went 'live' on Etsy: The Spiritual Spider On Etsy.

I know I've written about this before on an earlier post, but it must be said that the seeds for this dream go all the way back to when I was in fifth grade and took an after-school workshop on Rosary making for fun. And let's face it, what's not to like about beads, in general?! They're colorful, varied, often blingy, and just plain fun to work with.

I love the growth potential that such an Etsy business involves. As I learn new techniques, new items will be offered. Really, the sky is the limit. I'm not boxed in to any one religious or even spiritual path with regards to the Prayer Beads/Rosaries. It's all good.

To get even a few pieces listed on Etsy took joyful work, that's for sure. There's registering the company with the government. And the taking of a small business course and meeting with a small business consultant. There's the ordering of the materials to make the pieces...not to mention the purchasing of jewelry boxes and organza bags...and the designing of pretty company stickers to go on the boxes. Of course, there's the designing and the making of the pieces after finding a spot in the living room to set up shop. There's the taking of clear, quality pics and all that this entails. And there's figuring out the ins and outs of Etsy itself, as well as the oft-confusing topics of charging sales tax and shipping/handling. Oh, and let's not forget the bookkeeping on my end, of which I had to learn from scratch how to even begin to tackle it! And securing the advice of a real, reliable accountant. Whew! Worth it? Absolutely!

So do, please, visit my shop! Consider visiting often because the inventory will no doubt change and be added to. You can always find the link to my Etsy shop on the right sidebar of this blog. Thank you!
